Thanks to a grant from the Missouri State Library in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and a generous gift from Friends of the Kirkwood Public Library, the Library has recently upgraded its self check-out system.

The new system is built on updated hardware and software, thus improving upon our already heavily used self check-out infrastructure. The new machines offer the ability to users to:

  • The ability to key in a library card number
  • Check out and renew materials
  • View overdue materials and renew, if eligible
  • View currently held library materials that are ready to pick up
  • Make full or partial fine payments via updated credit card terminals which will be able to accept EVM credit cards chips in the future

The new machines require the user to enter their library card number and their PIN/password. PIN numbers are the same number used to log into your account on our new catalog, and by default are set to 1234 until changed.

For more information about this project or a demonstration, please contact Nick O’Neal at (314) 821-5770 x 1027.

This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
