December 10th is a big day for your Kirkwood Library! This is the day we will “go live” with our new catalog and circulation system.

There are several features of the system that we are excited to share with you including: the ability to keep your reading history if you so wish, a simplified way to check out ebooks, and a way to save searches online and have them repeated regularly to keep track of new titles by your favorite authors and on your favorite topics…just to name a few!

From Dec. 4 – Dec. 9, leading up to the switchover, the Library system will have some downtime. We will still be able to check materials in and out, but holds will be unavailable for a short time, as well as fine payments. Please bring your Library card with you during this downtime! Overdrive, Zinio, Library databases and computers will all be available during this time.

As we work hard to enhance your library experience, you may notice that you are receiving hold and overdue notifications via email rather than text message. Beginning December 10, if you would like to return to receiving text notifications, please contact the library by visiting us or calling 314-821-5770 and updating your contact information as well as providing your mobile carrier. Or you may visit our NEW catalog, after December 10 and update your own contact information and preferences.

During the months of December and January come to one of our many Drop-In IT sessions for a tour of our new catalog!  View our online calendar for dates and times.

Nick O’Neal is the Director of Technology and Online Services and is currently playing Fallout 4. Visit your Kirkwood Public Library at 140 E. Jefferson Avenue, or call us at 821-5770. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
