December 10th is a big day for your Kirkwood Library! This is the day we will “go live” with our new catalog and circulation system.

There are several features of the system that we are excited to share with you including: the ability to keep your reading history if you so wish, a simplified way to check out ebooks, and a way to save searches online and have them repeated regularly to keep track of new titles by your favorite authors and on your favorite topics…just to name a few!

If you are a user of the “my lists” feature of our current catalog, please note that the lists cannot be migrated over. If you are interested in keeping your lists, we would encourage you to email yourself copies of those lists, copy them over to a Word document or a GoodReads account. If you have any questions or would like help with this, please don’t hesitate to schedule a Grab-A-Geek appointment by calling the Library at 821-5770, ext. 1020.

For a few days leading up to the switchover, the Library system will have some downtime. We will still be able to check materials in and out, but holds will be unavailable for a short time, as well as fine payments. Please bring your Library card with you during this downtime! As we get closer to the big day, check for more information on our web site or simply give us a call!

Sarah Erwin is the Library Director and is currently reading File M for Murder by Miranda James.  Visit your Kirkwood Public Library at 140 E. Jefferson Avenue, or call us at 821-5770.  Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
