This summer Kirkwood Public Library is celebrating reading and the power of community with a single book selection for children, teens and adults. Each One Book, One Kirkwood selections has a fun book store or library theme with a bit of magic, twist and turns. To celebrate the books we’ll have some fun events at the library throughout the summer. For the children’s book, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein, we’ll be holding a Mr. Lemoncello’s Scavenger Hunt on June 30th at 7 pm where kids and their families can come search the library for clues, and leave with a prize. There will also be an enthralling book discussion on July 13th at 7 pm.

Teens can cozy up with The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman and join us at the library for a book discussion on Tuesday, July 21st at 7 pm. Adults can also join in on the fun with the One Book selection Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore. On Wednesday, August 5th at 7 pm come learn more about the book with a Skype Conversation with author Robin Sloane.

Chelsea Bedley is the Assistant Director of Programs and Youth Services. She is currently reading the Small Steps: The Year I Got Polio by Peg Kehret. Visit your Kirkwood Public Library at 140 E. Jefferson Avenue, or call us at 821-5770. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
