Ever find yourself at home on a Saturday night, looking for a movie to watch?  Or maybe on a holiday weekend (see last paragraph about this coming weekend)?  We can help!

Overdrive is Kirkwood Public Library’s source for downloadable audiobooks and ebooks and can be accessed anywhere with Wi-Fi. For smart devices, such as androids, the Kindle Fire, Nook HD, and iPads go to your app store and download Overdrive-media-consolethe free app “Overdrive Media Console” to get started today. For other devices, such as Kindle Paperwhite, Nook Simple Touch, and other e-ink devices, start your search for Overdrive books on a computer at then transfer downloads wirelessly or using a USB cord. Need more help with Overdrive? Call us at 821-5770 or check out Overdrive’s excellent help section. Items from Overdrive can be checked out for up to three weeks.  There will never be any fines associated with books from Overdrive because they automatically expire, and each library card can have 10 items checked out. Prefer Ziniomagazines? Start at and choose Zinio from our sidebar to get digital magazines free through the library.

Don’t forget:  Your Kirkwood Public Library will be closed both Sunday, May 25, and Monday, May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Items can still be renewed and requested online at Additionally, phone renewals can be made at 314-863-6408. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
