Thursday, February 9, 4:15 p.m.:  We’re Talkin’ Budgets Today!  City Council received their third-quarter budget report this week, and it was full of good news. We have now experienced three quarters of growth in the current fiscal year, in terms of revenue, and from a variety of sources.  In particular, sales tax revenue is up $126,000 over last year, which indicates that people are shopping and dining in Kirkwood even more than last year. Overall, general fund revenue is up by more than a half-million dollars from this time last year.  The other good news is that building permit fees are also up. That means increased revenue as well, but it also signifies that we’ve had new development and construction in Kirkwood.  If you would like to see the budget report that the Council received today, click here.   If you have any questions or comments about any of this information, please send me an email: vonbehen@kirkwoodmo.org.
